A Social Enterprise: Upcycling Story
I got a job in Korea in February 2014. The company is tiny and small just right now but I think there is a good vision in business. That's Upcycling~! Upcycling is a new word related to recycling. Wikipedia says, "upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value." I pretty liked to work for that company because at least I could help the earth to save many lives besides human and reduce pollution! I changed my job though because of some problems. I liked the company's vision but I could not adapt to its network system(?) or new environment(?) no idea how to say it but I could not associate with anyone at work. However, interestingly I work for the company so far after leaving. In February I designed a business card and a poster and something more. Today, I am writing what I did for reminding my dream I want to come true.
First - A business card
I had never ever experienced making a business card in my career and study. I remember my boss was shocked by my first work. I want to show how poorly the first work looked like but I don't have the one in this computer. Anyway.. This is my final. Nothing special but simple and clean and organized~! My purpose was to show reliability on the business card. I thought reliability were the most important thing on it. However, my boss always wanted me to design something special and unique. Ok~! I agree on his requirement but I didn't and also couldn't. Toward the end of this task, I was almost exhausted of it. Also, there were other tasks to do. So I couldn't spend time to think of it anymore.
I used illustrator.
Second - Posters
It was the same as making the business card. No idea how to make a poster. However, I knew there would be some general rules. So, I found the principles of poster as CMYK, the size of paper, print, and calling a print office. Those are the first to check out. I used to use RGB color because I didn't need to print anything in my work. So no knowledge of print and then layout. Even though I had No experience and knowledge, I did my best to make my first poster. I made it and showed it to my boss and he gave me a good advice. He said, "Consider a main title and a sub title on the poster." Ok..then I made second one considering the main title and sub title for the poster. looking at my second poster, he said... "make it simple. no lots of lines!!" So, I gave him third one he recommended. He did Not completely say, "Yes!" So, I thought ok...I need to make another one. I made forth one. I could feel he did Not like forth edition as well. Forth one was the last that I designed for this task. Through this project, I only know I need to learn design a lot.

I used illustrator to make everything.
